Hey, What’s going on guys? Frankly, Not good here. If you’re following me you’ll remember that I just recently posted about the http://ajm-web-designs.co.uk/sample-page/feed/ unfortunate closing of Cyanogen Inc. If you haven’t read it yet I’ll recommend you to read it first so that you can understand what’s going on. But without any further ado let’s jump straight into the news. 🙁
5 minutes binary options strategies explained Just When You Think 2016 can’t get any worse…
Anyways, In my previous post, I talked about Why Cyaongen Inc is closing its door and what effect it will cause on CyanogenMod. In the post, I said that CyanogenMod will still exist but will now require the modding community to do basically everything. because the CyanogenMod community relies on the Cyanogen Inc for monetary support and the shared source base.
Well, it turns out that http://vagnvagensbygg.se/firmenit/368 CyanogenMod is also closing it’s doors and is no longer going to provide any updates to any of its supported devices which is a go here BUMMER to a lot of people. especially those who have Cyanogen-powered devices such as the http://www.macfixer.co.uk/?veselowivem=%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AE%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AB%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%A6%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D9%85%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%A8%D9%84-%D8%A8%D9%8A%D9%86%D9%8A&a29=9d Yu Yureka, OnePlus One or http://tennisclubpaimpol.fr/bisese/9143 ZUK Z1.
“Community of developers, designers, device maintainers and translators have taken the steps necessary to produce a fork of the CM source code and pending patches,”
If you didn’t get it. Basically, CyanogenMod source code will live on as http://agauchepourdevrai.fr/?fuier=agence-rencontre-gasp%D0%93%C2%A9&d81=f6 Lineage OS. It’s not clear when the new OS will go live. However, We do found a new website for Lineage OS which only has one post that starts with the title enter “Yes, this is us” And tells the user to read the “Cyanogen service shutdown post”. Here’s how the site’s main page looks like.
see Lineage OS, A New Begining.
As can be seen in the image above, LingeageOS will be a continuation of what CyanogenMod was and the company is only pulling their support out of the open source project. So that’s a relief.
CyanogenMod’s Official Post On This
This is more than just a ‘rebrand’. This fork will return to the grassroots community effort that used to define CM while maintaining the professional quality and reliability you have come to expect more recently.
CM has served the community well over its 8 long years. It has been our home, bringing together friends from all over the world to celebrate our joy of building and giving. Its apt then that on this Eve of a holiday we pay our respects. We will take pride in our Lineage as we move forward and continue to build on its legacy.
Well, I think they made it pretty clear in the post, They are not dead. Only CyanogenMod is. The company will now work on LineageOS and will once again serve the community.
So, what do you guys think? are you happy that CyanogenMod is not dead? What are your thoughts about this turn of events? let me know in the comment section down below.
